The special issue of Defect and Diffusion Forum includes selected and peer reviewed papers presented at the 13th International Conference on Superplasticity in Advanced Materials (ICSAM 2018), August 19-22, 2018, St. Petersburg, Russia. We hope this collection will be interesting and useful for many specialists whose scientific and engineering activity is related to the area of superplastic materials, research of the mechanisms of superplasticity and superplastic processing technologies.

National Program Committee invited six participants of ICSAM2018 to submit overviews and original works for publication in special issue of Review of Advanced Materials Science. These selected articles describe with different aspects of superplasticity as well as attractive properties materials with ultra-fine grained structure and none-ferrous alloys, which could be easily processed in high strength state through extensive grain refinement by intense plastic straining.
